abodenest is a home decorating blog built on one honest belief: a beautiful home shouldn’t require a designer’s budget, a landlord’s permission, or a full renovation. Whether you’re renting a studio, styling your first apartment, or slowly turning a house into a home you own, there’s almost always a small, doable change that makes the room you’re standing in feel better tonight.
What we cover
We write for three homes in one: small-space living (studios, one-bedrooms, tiny homes), rentals (renter-friendly, no-damage, deposit-safe ideas), and full houses (living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, outdoor spaces). We lean into seasonal styling too — fall, winter, spring, summer, and the holidays — because that’s when a home really gets to show its personality.
Every article follows the same shape: a clear list of ideas, an image for each one, and a short, honest explanation of why it works and how to pull it off in a real home.

Why we started
Most decorating advice online swings between “spend $8,000 on a renovation” and “here’s a Pinterest photo with no explanation.” We wanted something in the middle: genuinely useful, clearly explained, organized by the room you’re actually standing in — and honest about what works in a rental versus an owned home.
